Patient Teaching
I had the privileged to do plenty of patient teaching on these subjects:
Breast Feeding
Postpartum changes
Breast care
Cord care
Perinatal care
Safety
Importance of bonding with newborn
All of these were taught to us in class, and/or lab, so we could correctly teach the patients.
Personal Reflection
This course has brought me to a new level as a nursing student. I feel more comfortable when teaching patients skills that are necessary for them to learn, as well as, communicating with the other nurses and staff. I learned a lot in this course, and enjoyed getting to have the experiences in the labor and delivery and c-section areas as well.
