Personal Reflection
My growth and development towards the role of a professional registered nurse has increased eminently. I started out unsure of where this path would lead me, and ended up taking a worthwhile journey towards an unending world of knowledge. I would not go back and change anything because each challenge has gotten me to where I am now, and that is a great achievement.
Personal Goals
My goals for my future professional development are as follows:
1. Manage my patient(s) treatments, medications, and assessments in a timely and organized manner during each of my shifts.
2. Demonstrate my ability to perform certain tasks and skills. These tasks and skills are as follows: inserting a Foley catheter, cleaning a ventilator, admitting and discharging patients.
3. Demonstrate my knowledge of each medication before administering them to patient(s).
4. Demonstrate professional communication with physician(s) and other staff.
5. Demonstrate proper therapeutic communication with patient(s) and family members.
6. Demonstrate my ability to properly and safely prepare medications, and recheck medications before administration.
7. Demonstrate correct safety precautions that are relevant to each patient(s) needs.
8. Demonstrate delegation skills as a newly registered nurse would during my shifts.
